1997 Arrowood Estate Malbec
More conventional, but still a bit odd, was ’97 Arrowood Estate Malbec, something you’d never mistake for a Weinert or a Cahors. It’s reasonably dark in color, but light for an Arrowood, distinctly strawberry-toned fruit, enormous oaking, and a dash of tarragon. It finishes up quite short, though the barrel tannins don’t. And what finish is there is dominated by a big, alcoholic blast.
